Volunteer at our Pantries


We have pantries located throughout Northwest DuPage County, each of which have different hours and volunteer needs. 

Volunteer weekly, once a month or fill in as needed. These are great opportunities for retirees or people with flexible work-from-home jobs!



Below are our current volunteer needs:

Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Warrenville (29W260 Batavia Road, Warrenville)

Mondays: Drivers* & helpers in the mornings to pick up food from Mariano's in Naperville. 

Thursdays: Friendly and outgoing guest assistants, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. to escort people around the pantry.  Knowing Spanish is helpful but not necessary.

Saturdays: Drivers* & helpers in the mornings to pick up food from Wal-Mart in Glen Ellyn.

Lutheran Church of the Master, Carol Stream


Back-up Drivers* & helpers needed to pick up food on all days. The ability to lift 25 pounds is needed.

Assistance needed once or twice a week for about three hours unload and stocking shelves.

Real Life Church, West Chicago 

Mondays:  Drivers* & helpers for food rescue program: 9:30am – 12:30pm.

Wednesdays:  Drivers* & helpers for food rescue program: 11:15- 12:30

Thursdays: Drivers* & helpers for food rescue program9:30 - 12:30

Fridays: Drivers* & helpers for food rescue program:1:15 - 12:00
               Drivers* & helpers for food rescue program:*: 11:45AM - 2:00 PM.

Resurrection Catholic Church (30W350 Army Trail Rd. in Wayne):

Mondays:

Drivers* & helpers to pick up food from the Jewel in St. Charles (next to the Charlestowne Mall), 7:15 – 9:15 AM. The ability to lift 25 pounds is needed. The pick-up/drop-off process takes 1.5 – 2 hours.

General duties –  (10am – 2pm) stock shelves, bag items, help with tasks in the meat, deli, produce and bread/bakery areas.

Tuesdays:
General duties include stocking shelves, bagging items, set-up in the morning (noon start) and clean-up (around 4pm)

Thursdays: Drivers* & helpers to pick up food from Aldi, 8:45AM. The ability to lift 25 pounds is needed. The pick-up/drop-off process takes 1.5 – 2 hours.

Fridays: Help on delivery days 7:30 – 9:00 AM every first and third Fridays of the month. The pantry receives large food deliveries each 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month and are in need of volunteers to help bring the boxes into the pantry to store. An ability to lift 25 pounds is necessary.

Saturdays
:

Drivers* & helpers to pick up food from Jewel, 7AM. The ability to lift 25 pounds is needed. The pick-up/drop-off process takes 1.5 – 2 hours.

General duties (9am-11:30am) – stock shelves, bag items, help with tasks in the meat, deli, produce and bread/bakery areas.

Closing volunteer, 10:30 AM – noon. Duties include organizing, clean up & stocking shelves.

* Driver positions - Current drivers license and proof of insurance required.  We have a cargo van for the pick-ups so you don’t need to use your own vehicle!
